25th May 2001
A quiet meeting for a change as we'd all had a busy week preparing for the Kickstart show. Robert brought along the club A4000 and several members spent some time installing a basic suite of software on the machine. The 4k seemed to be slightly unreliable so Sam Byford took it apart and gave it the contacts a good clean which seemed to improve matters. Chris Emmins took the opportunity to show members his new Olympus Camedia 990 digital camera, this is a really nice piece of kit with a 2.1 megapixel resolution.
Just when the meeting seemed to be going smoothly disaster struck, someone had taken
the power lead for the kettle which could have meant... no coffee! But Mick Sutton
and several other members came to the rescue with their McGuyver skills and got the kettle
working with a monitor power lead and 13AMP fuse... the day was saved
